Term 4 basic facts

We have been working on answering basic facts questions quickly and instantly. I should be working on Stage 5.

I am at Stage 4. I got 40 out of 60.

Pet Day

Today is our school pet day. We made vaseline saucers using flower petals. Here is my saucer.

Garden to Table

Today y I planted some seeds for Garden to Table.  We planted some capsicum, snow peas, basil , carrot and pumpkin.

We we had finished in the garden, we had a picnic and got to eat some yummy kai.  Here is a photo of Team Awa's picnic.

 

Science Fair.

Yesterday we had our school science fair. My science investigation was about the flight of paper planes.

B E G I N N I N G	TITLE	Balloon Hovercraft
	QUESTION	How does a hovercraft hover?
	HYPOTHESIS	I predict that it  will not fly up.

M I D D L E	EQUIPMENT  AND MATERIALS:	Water bottle cap CD Balloon
	PROCEDURE:	Step 1:using a hot glue gun, glue the bottle cap over the CD hole. Step 2: blow up the balloon. When it is fully inflated twist the end so no air comes out. Step 3: Stretch the balloon over the end of the bottle cap. Step 4: open up the cap end. Place the CD on the surface.  Step 5: untwist balloon and let go.
	OBSERVATIONS/RESULTS:	The CD moved around the table. The balloon lost all its air.

CONCLUSION:

The air from the balloon creates a cushion of moving air between the disc and the CV and reduces the friction across the surface.
